I was walking home from the art shop in the spring of 2026, on the first warm evening when you could wear a t-shirt without being cold. I was carrying three big canvases down Upper Street in Islington, and it was manic, everybody rushing with their work clothes on.

I, however, was walking home listening to music, enjoying the weather, about to go and paint for the evening. Something about that moment really resonated with me, and I had this idea for a painting where the canvas comes alive and dances out of the page. It captures the joy I was feeling at that time. So I painted it, and animated it, frame by frame.
